“Kyu-can-cho” Project

Using our wood chips carrier "Hokuetsu Ushaka," we have helped transport Pan Akimoto Co., Ltd.'s "Kyu-can-cho" (canned bread intended for emergency food during disasters) to the Kingdom of Swaziland (a small country in northern South Africa). The 7,200 cans we received from Pan Akimoto were loaded onto the carrier at the Port of Niigata's East Port. Upon arriving in South Africa, the cans were delivered to Swaziland by ground transport via the Swaziland Red Cross Society and local wood chip suppliers. The students who received "Kyu-can-cho" expressed "big thanks!" and highly appreciated the effort.
