Pulp Business
In the pulp business, we have established an international supply system by centering our manufacturing and sales bases overseas. In particular, Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Alpac) in Canada primarily produces hardwood pulp and boasts one of the largest production capacities in North America. The company also operates a power generation and sales business, supplying electricity generated from biomass to Alberta's provincial power grid.
In Japan, our pulp operations procure raw materials from multiple countries and suppliers to build a sustainable supply chain. In addition, as part of our Business Continuity Planning (BCP), we secure multiple transportation options including trucks, rail freight, and coastal shipping, enabling us to deliver products in the quantities and at the timing requested by our customers.
